No matter what your politics let us never forget these Men and Women doing what they are told and representing the United States in Foreign lands and making the extreme sacrifice in the line of duty!!!!
This silence is deafening!!!!

omg you americans are crazy! for gods sake dont you understand that all the wars usa do are meaningless ? id rather pray for the thousants of afgans died in this stupid war rather than american soldiers that went to the war only for the money or were brainwashed enough to believe that this war was worth !
sacrifice is when you die for your country to protect it, not fighting a bounch oh hepless people....
this is unacceptable...

the war in Afghanistan was supposed to be about the terrorists groups control that country and oppression of the country's people, very good cause, what is happening now apparently is stopping farmers from growing crops or harvesting crops in their own country, if the morons and idiots won't stop abusing drugs its not other country's problem, we've done this in south america too and they had better not try it in the golden triangle or way more problems than we have in afghanistan will appear, with all of the stimulus money squandered on politicians airplanes and plastic surgery procedures our government could buy the entire crop from all of the growers and then give it to dupont or proctor and gamble or any of the big chemical companies and let them turn it into motor oil or pavement or anything but stop getting our service men and women killed because the parents in this country are too chickenshit to teach their children not to take street drugs.

More than 2000 people from countries all over the world died on 9/11 and you think the war in Afghanistan is meaningless. Why don't you say that to the families of the victims. And while your at it, why don't you move to Afghanistan, one of the Taliban controlled areas. Just try and speak your mind there and see how far that gets you. If they don't hand you your head first. People like you disgust me. :x

Wow this thread got alot of discussion. I agree with CV that regardless of our politics we should be supporting our servicemen and women who are fighting for our right to exist in all parts of the globe. I do believe that the American media has under reported the war in Afghanistan and only seem to report the things that reinforce their own editorial view of the war.

Wars are "won" by destroying the enemy's ability to make war and his will to do so. Victories are not negotiated they are won. Muhammed the prophet understood this. The early growth of Islam was at the tip of a sword not sharing the good news. This belief is at the core of the islamic extremist belief that the world be converted by any means necessary. Ultimately they seek control of the world and all its resources and Islam is their "Ticket to Ride" (Sorry Beatles). This is why some lovingly refer to them as Islamofasicists...

All wars are fought over economic resources in some form or fashion. Usually the one with too little plots to take from the one who has more and seems weak enough to defeat. As an American I admit that we seem divided, lazy, self absorbed, and superficial. I also know that despite our infighting and political squabbling that there is no nation, people, or ideaology that can defeat the American Spirit unless we let it. So for all you "glass is half empty we can't win so lets run away crowd" get your head out of your A@# or you'll be bowing to Mecca 3 times a day.

There I said it man I feel better now.

200% support for service people. Like with artists if you cant do support those who can.

The politics and laying blame is irrelevant at this stage. Were there and dont need the negativity that undermined a lot of servicepeople during vietnam. They are there, its happening. Pray for the best outcome and that your friends and/or family come home alive.

What I believe about the war doesn't matter. Once our troops are engaged, they need our support... 100%...

There's a lot of ungrateful countries that would be getting some blowback if not for Americans fighting this war.

One thing we musicians can do is support Guitars For Vets, a fave personal charity.

"The healing power of music, in the hands of heroes."

We certainly went into Afghan soil for all the right reasons. But somehow I feel we have gotten off track. Maybe we aren't, but it just feels that way to me. Regardless, that doesn't lessen my support for the military men and women (I served in the Navy submarine force, myself...)
