This version of after midnight came out in 1988 for a beer commercial. It became a popular alternative to the classic "After Midnight" song. Do you like this version better than the original?

This commercial aired along with a similar commercial with Phil Collins' "In The Air Tonight". Any body remember that one?

I like the original also, but this version is slower and has that bluesy feel to it. It also has great vibes, not to mention that classic slow Clapton solo.

Suggest you refresh yourselves by listening to the original J.J.Cale recording, the arrangement EC did on Eric Clapton, as well as the commercial. My personal preference is for the two slower arrangements.

I'm sure you are all aware of the several interpretations of Crossroads which Eric has performed.
