I would like to say he would be retired from performing and concentrated on anti-drug campaigns.

I would have to agree with the guys who said he would be playing an artist series built to his specs. Or maybe because he was always tinkering might have gone the Vanhalen route and made his own.

I'll bet Fender would have an entire department dedicated to keeping up with his every whim. Or, he simply would have bought Fender back in the 80s and the entire corporation would be dedicated to keeping up with his every whim.

On a related note and I've said this before: Many of today's well known guitar 'celebrities' would not have had professional careers if it wasn't for them 'adopting' Hendrix's stylings and passing them off to subsequent generations as their own.

Amen!!! That is why I would consider Jimi Hendrix as a candidate for "all time legend " rock guitar player. He as made a great impact to many generations to come and innovation on a different approach to guitar playing that has influence so many and many future generations. No one sounds and plays like Hendrix.

I feel that he had played to the point that there was nothing that came between his sound and his soul... "direct drive" if you will.

It so wild to think that the strat was a component in that "circuit". I think that might be part of why I find beauty and excitement in every strat I see and touch.

BTW - scored a Strat Plus the other day. It's on its' way. More to follow!

I heard him at Cobo Arena in Detroit in the late 60s'. He arrived quite late and I wasn't that moved by the show. It was probably me. I do recall that when he took the stage, he immediately started insulting his audience say things like "you people just don't get it", "you can't dig what I'm doing" $@!& like that. I suppose that turned me off to a large degree.

Woa, that's disappointing man. All I can go on is my DVD which doesn't really inspire me, it just makes me angry that I can't do that!
