I recently bought a Telecoustic Deluxe and want to add strap holders. But the holder is also the input for the jack. Is there anywhere I can get a part to remedy this?

Thank you as always!

Hi CC: Ha! Good question. Not so easily answered.

Closest I can find (geographically too, for you) is the third item down on this page:

http://www.axesrus.com/axeElectronicsJacks.htm

That almost certainly would involve drilling screw holes, though.

Alternatively, there's these kinds of locking straps:

http://store.daddario.com/category/146443

Or these little gizmos:

http://www.stringsdirect.co.uk/products ... _lok_strap

And finally, the same job as those Lok Straps can be done by the trusty rubber washer from a Grolsch bottle. Corny - but tried and tested!

Cheers - C

Edit: spelling...

You're welcome!

BTW: I long ago noticed you give your location as "Belfast, UK/Ireland".

Puts me in mind of Gerry Anderson, who always talks about Derry/Londonderry. Which he therefore calls "stroke city". So I guess you live in "stroke country"...!

(I believe in North America they don't call a "/" a "stroke". So they won't be getting the pun on that. ...But they will now. )

lol, big time.

Its weird, everyone here is either British OR Irish, they don't realise that other Brits are still Scottish, English or Welsh. Its stupid!
But yeah, its like Gerry Anderson. Even the front of the buses here say Derry/Londonderry. How sad is that?!!?!?

I was confident you'd work that out, that's why I stayed mum. :)

But no no no!

Take a big leap with your electro that tears the strap off the button (as I'm sure you do :D ). Now you have the guitar flapping around your knees with the added problem that the cable is threaded inconveniently through the hole in the strap.

Try completing the song with your dignity in tact after that mess up!

...I don't know if strap locks existed back in my (humble) gigging days but I didn't have them. Experimented with multiple winds of elastic bands and latterly the famous Grolsch bottle rubber seals. But mostly we just needed to be good at getting the strap back on the button without stopping playing!

Here's Pete showing how to do it at Woodstock. About a minute in - don't worry, the picture and sound quality improve at that point:
