Rest in peace.

You will not be forgotten in Ireland, your true home, and were you cared for so much

not to be dissing on your post but didn't he allegedly fund the IRA?

Aside of that I think he was a great public servant and a giant among men in the U S political system

Rest in as much peace as Mary Jo Kopechne did.

Loud, obnoxious, womanizing, murdering liberal drunk who was born with a silver spoon up his butt.

[quote="CAFeathers"]R.I.P. Senator Kennedy.

Obviously "Troublecall"'s seen the other side of the mountain. One might might also say, 'like father like son', with respect to these men. There's a significant and nefarious side to Joseph P. Kennedy, his personal private life, social and political philosophies he embraced, and the dynasty he founded.

The Bard has left us with two thoughts which might apply here:

-'the fault dear Brutus is not in our stars, but in ourselves, that we are underlings'
-'the evil that men do lives after them, the good is oft interred with their bones'

A in-depth and broad reading of the history of the 20th Century Kennedy's is in order before the accolades are heaped.

No he did not fund the cursed IRA. However, in the early days of the conflict (late 60's) he was sympathetic to their cause. Their cause at this particular time was to protect 'third class citizens' from bigotry, violence from the state (British Army & Loyalist Police force) and from Loyalist paramilitary organizations.

Whether it be good, bad, or just tainted a little Senator Kennedy and his family have played a significant role in American politics and history. It is with that in mind that I pay my respects to Senator Kennedy.

As far as you know. The only person who truly knew is no longer among us.

Think of it this way. If your were to drive off a bridge and wait until the next morning to report it what would have been done to you? It is thought that she may have lived for up to 2 hours in an air pocket in the car. Reports say there was no heavy current in the water at the time. It was common knowledge teddy was a drunk! He said he was taking her to catch the last ferry off the island and he got lost and took a wrong turn. RIGHT He had been running around that area his whole live and he got lost!!!! He even claim he had not been close and knew much about Mary Jo when in fact she was one of the Boiler Room Girls as they called themselfs who worked for Robert Kennedy years before and the party was one of there reunions and to think Teddy wasnt drinking at the party would be a joke!!!! People af Massachusetts have been bought out by the family all these years. And like Doc said people should read about the shady history of the Father of the bunch Joe Kennedy and his bootleg day and how he used being the appointment as first Chair of the securities exchange and how he used its inside information to became one of the Nations wealthiest people. When FDR was asked why he would appoint someone like Joe Kennedy to run the Security Exchange FDR was quoted saying it takes a Crook to catch a Crook!!!!
