I am very confused about the name of a Jimi Hendrix song. Is the real name Voodoo CHILD or Voodoo CHILE?

Both. Voodoo Chile is a 15 minute Jam session between Jimi, Mitch Mitchell, Jack Casady and Steve Winwood. Voodoo Child (Slight Return) is the 5:13 minute closing track (the one with all the wah). Both are on Electric Ladyland and you should listen to both ^^

i think the chile/child thing if i'm not mistaken is due to a misspelling when the sleeve notes and tracklistings were made? sligh return is just meant to be a much trimmed version of the oriiginal jam or summin?

The song was recorded in 1968, and was re-released as a single after Hendrix's death in 1970. It was the A side on a three-track record, and reached Number 1 in the UK. It was catalogued as "Voodoo Chile" (Track 2095 001), and that is the title which appears on the single and is the title referred to officially. This obviously confuses it with the 15-minute song on the album Electric Ladyland.
