When standing my bridge is right around waist height. Remember it's about playing not posing.

my personal strap length measurement is as below
holding the strap button hole between the right hand thumb and index fingers
and stretching out my right hand out straight
and holding the other strap button hole on my left thumb and index finger that reaches until the exact end of my left shoulder

I recently was given one of these comfort strapps and I'll tell you...these things are so comfortable that it's amazing :

I have one of those on my laptop/briefcase bag and I LOVE it. I did not know that they made guitar straps - I must have one!

The bridge is just above my belt. I prefer comfort over looks.

I've seen a lot of photographers using them as well. They make them for many applications now.

The bridge sits at the same height as my belt buckle, which is comfortable for me because I usually play with my thumb hooked over the neck.

Exactly the same here.

Don't worry how it looks--how does it play?

I prefer it to be slightly lower when I stand than when I sit--about an inch lower.

A high git keeps my wrist more straightly positioned so that's what I use. As an Aikidoist my wrists are already screwed up enough without me causing extra tendon damage through poor playing form.
