In the Guitar class I'm taking in College the Instructor is not allowing us to play with picks. I'm looking forward to fingerpicking, I've never been good at it so this works out great.
Anyways, for our final we have to play a song for the class. During the semester he will give handouts with songs that we can choose from, OR we can submit one of our choice.

I'm drawing a blank on fingerpicking song names. I have a few, but I would like to check out more.

I'm pretty open as far as genre goes.

Do you have to sing also or is it an instrumental song?

I have been trying to get the technique and Dylan song ("Don't Think Twice, It's All Right") Justin demo's here, for months. It sounds excellent, but is really hard to do (well......for a hack like me anyway):

"Big Love" by Fleetwood Mac. To be a little more obscure there's lots of Lindsey Buckinghams solo stuff that's fun. Check out "Trouble" on the "Live at Bass Performance Hall" CD. Also, early Paul Simon stuff would be good "live From New York -1967" has just Paul Simon on guitar for backup.

Chet when I was in school I learned Windy and Warm by Chet Atkins

It wasn't that hard. It sounds great.

The tune starts at around 1:10 on this video.

Or if you get real good real fast you could learn The last Steam Engine Train.

If you want a little bit of classical (just a bit), I always love to play Dee by Mr. Randy Rhoads off the Blizzard of Ozz album. That was the first fingerpicking song I learned ^^ (It is only like 50 seconds long, not sure if there is a time limit)

Perhaps something based on an acoustic version of Layla.
