Serious GAS. I need a Tele. maybe a '72 Deluxe. But I think I want a Highway 1 in blonde if possible. I had a sunburst one, I traded in some deal I don't even remember what I got.

Hi chuckbat: nothing wrong with that. The Squier Classic Vibe series has been getting rave reviews. Nice timbers (no veneers) and good quality finishing. Check out the Classic Vibe '50s Tele on this page:

Best value in town.

Cheers - C

I *think* that the Hwy 1s are being phased out, but I have one and agree that it's a great playing and sounding guitar.

I actually almost bought a Squier Classic Vibe 50's Tele the other day when I went in to just by strings. If I hadn't left the wallet in the car, I had enough money in my pocket for the strings, I am sure I would have walked out with it.
Some of the new Squier stuff is awesome.

Nine years ago, the first series of American Standards were going away and...

...'scored a natural ash / maple AS. Yummers. What a fun and sweet and nice guitar. Great to have a Tele. Do a "real" one if you can do the cash thing. Try a few, first; they are very personal guitars.

Best of fortune.

I was playing a '72 Deluxe when I was testing amps a few days ago, and I am absolutely smitten with it. It is definitely my next guitar. Go for it! 8)
