Mike, why can't we see the results? You going to tell us them when you've finished the poll?

I wanted to try and get a good participation (for various reasons) so the polls end on Saturday....2 days and 17 hours from now.

I doing some work with computers and networks now (commercial and home), which is part of my reason for being curious.

I am also looking for input on Windows 7 (due October 22nd or so) and other operating systems.

Students (who might not be aware) can buy a Macbook through the Mac store for $800 or so and it includes an 8GB iPod touch (free)....the discounts go up depending on which model is purchased.

http://store.apple.com/us/browse/home/education_routing

I'm also interested in reading about the Acer owners experiences (Acer bought out Gateway).

So, looking forward to seeing all of the responses on Saturday.

I use both, but mainly MACS. I use MACS for the serious stuff like word processing, spread sheets, photography, video editing, streaming, music and pretty much everyday stuff. On the other hand, I use PC for gaming, like playing TF2, CS, Quake and such. So I use both....why limit yourself to only using one platform.....computers are tools not a religion. Oh.....my line of work requires me to know both platforms.... 8)

I love my Mac. I use Mac and Windows but go the Mac whenever I can (most of the time). I can run Windows on my Mac so I get the best of both worlds.

I was so amazed at the power and simplicity of GarageBand that I purchased Logic (professional version, i.e. GarageBand on steroids). Now, I couldn't live without Logic.

I still find myself going to Windows for Guitar Pro (Mac version of this has significant kinks) and Power Tab Editor. Even in those cases, I usually export the files to MIDI and bring them into Logic on the Mac where I can do so much more with them.

Ha! I wondered when this subject would come up. It was only a matter of time.

PC for me. I do video editing for our home movies complete with music and effects, then burn it to a DVD. That's pretty much as hard as a home computer can work - no problem.

- It's easy to hate Microsoft (just because of their enormous size), BUT WinXP does work very well.

- Macs ARE cute as a puppy!

- Garage Band IS (apparently) a fantastic program.
