[quote="thouston"]Dog fighting is a 'sport' in the south and in other countries as well. Vick is from the south, and grew up with it. Now if it had been $@!& fighting, and than he killed the birds and ate them, than people wouldn't have a problem.

Micheal Vick is from Virginia....There are a few states a little farther "South" than that. Lets set NC, SC, Georgia, Florida...i could go on. For a guy who went to College he claimed "i didnt know there wasnt anything wrong with it"...

HOW STUPID CAN YOU BE?!!! There's nothing wrong with torturing, drowning, electrocuting, beating, bludgening. and getting enjoyment out of forcing animals to kill and maim each other in unnatural conditions.

That is super Healthy and fun...don't cha think?

Chicken fighting is illegal as well buddy. You should probably look into counseling for your lack of compassion for living creatures.

Let's see here, Dante Stallworth is banned for the entire season for driving while intoxicated and killing a pedestrian. The court sentences him to house arrest for I don't remember how long, but IMO, he should be behind bars for what he did. Michael Vick did 2 years in prison for arrainging Dog Fights, but yet Roger Goodell reinstates him? What the hell is wrong with this picture people? Both of the people I just mentioned should be banned from the NFL for LIFE!!!! Period!

Something seems odd there doesn't it...Stallworth got a massively gentle slap on the wrist and Vick got back in the NFL way easier than I thought he would.

It's illegal here, but not in other parts of the the world. Like I said, I don't condone it, there are far worse criminal acts, like murder & rape. Speaking of 'rape', why didn't Big Ben get arrested?

Maybe you're one the one who should have counseling, if you have this freaking you out this much. I sleep good every night.

Have a nice life :) .

Wow. Lots of passion in this thread! So let me throw in my perspectives:

First off, I in no way condone what Vick did. I am an animal lover.

Michael Vick did his time. He has served is debt to society for the crimes he has committed. Unfortunately the stigma of his crimes will follow him the rest of his life. So I ask you this; when does a criminal that has served his sentence, cease to pay for his crimes? If he should be punished for life, they why isn't he sentenced to life?

Scenario: If a carpenter is caught stealing and serve his time in jail for the crime, should his employers refuse to re-hire him because society still condemns him for his crime?

By the way, there have been rapists and murderers that have served less time than Michael Vick.

I look forward to your responses!

I'm over arguing. My initial point in this entire thread is that the Philadelphia Eagles suck. And their decisions at QB and Coach are just plain stupid. McNabb and Reid are buffoons. And i hope Michael Vick ruins their their comfortable tenure there.

I think someone needs a nap! :)

Just kidding. But why so worked up about a sports franchise? It isn't worth the stress!

I have no problem with Michael Vick being hired as a carpenter. My issue is that he is making millions of dollars playing a professional sport with lots of publicity and is supposed to be someone that kids look up to as a role model.

Do you want your kids/grandkids looking up to a convicted felon as a role model?

I sure don't!

Thank you, Nrt4. If enough of you boycott, protest, or just throw stuff at him, then the Eagles management will have to bench this creep.
