What would you say is the most iconic guitar of all time? The Strat and the Les Paul come to mind right away, but what about the Tele? The Beatles sure made me want a Gretsch and a Rickenbacker. It's an impossible question with a million answers, but I think I'd have to go with the Strat. What do you think?

P.S. I've already changed my mind twice before I even finished typing!

Hello Pts295,

For me it's gotta be,

Stratocaster.

Cheers.

Like many people here, I'm biased toward the Stratocaster.

In terms of bass guitars, much as I love the Fender Precision Bass, I would say that Paul McCartney's Höfner "violin" bass defines the look for me.

To be honest I think it is a dead tie between the Stratocaster and Les Paul.

They really are the yin and yang of rock music.

I'm gonna say a tie between the 'Caster Bros. and the Les Paul

But since it's 2 to 1 Fender vs Gibson the overall winner is

Fender

When it comes to bass the winner for me is McCartney's Viola Bass

If there was a "Major League Guitar Playing" logo, it would be red white and blue, and the silhouette would be a Stratocaster. It's the most popular body shape in the world.
