Definitely not from the '50's.

You're probably right, I couldn't quite remember how old it was. I remember doing research on it a year or two ago and found some info...all I know is it set up in my grandpa's attic for the majority of it's life lol

i finally figured out my camera (it only took me a year  )

here is my humble les paul.
i'm thinking about refinishing it (stewmac or reranch. pelham blue, sunburst, black or natural clear.) also on stewmac they have diy binding that i'm thinking about doing. input and opinions would be nice.

can't get pic on but it looks exactly like a fender precision bass with white body and white pickguard but the head is kind of hooked insyead of rounded. it's made by bridgecraft.

Bassists who "have a cow" over using picks with a bass are snobs, plain and simple.

I much prefer the sound of picks with bass, as well as the ease of playing. If someone needs or wants to be slapping or popping or whatever, fingerstyle is all well and good, but that's not the style I play nor would I ever need to do those techniques.

I played bass with a pick for a Rock And Roll Hall of Famer and he didn't have any problem with it.

Here is the first guitar I ever bought. I got this Korean made acoustic back in 1973. That makes it about 35 years old. It still has a really nice tone to it.

Let's bump this topic back up ...

As non-Fender as you can get:

a Univox late '60s copy of a Gibson Barney Kessel wide-body jazz box.
