What amp is a good starter amp (got a hot rod but its too clunky right now) Here are my requirements,
1) Has to be about 15-25 watts preferably 25
2) Light, around 5-25 lbs.
3) Affordable, $100-300 (MAX of 300)
4) of course I would like it to be a Fender (no marshalls please)
5) I would like tube but I need a solid more. So most likely a solid

If this can help, I like blues and classic rock.

I'm also looking to take up bass, Also the same specs but would settle for a Vox. (thinking of a Jazz bass or a Hofner Icon B-bass cause I can get one in town plus I like the Beatles)

Thank you guys so much!!

Just give me some names and I'll try 'em out!

I own and love the Peavey Classic 20. All tube 15W amp with master volume and gain. It's like a Fender Champ on steroids. Very cool amp and they aren't easy to find sometimes, people tend to keep em. They are going for around $250. It reallly sounds great when you run it thru a 2x12 cab. Amazingly loud for a 15W amp. The only down point about it is it breaks up real early. Not a lot of clean headroom.

here's some reviews from Harmony Central:

You might have to search a bit to find one, but it's worth the trouble.

For a small practice type amp I do like the Roland cube 20x I bought.
Fits the price and power (20W), but not the brand :)

A Fender g-dec also falls in that price/power band, slightly less power (15W).

So would a small VOX.

Tubes tend to drive up the price :(.
