Happy Birthday Leo! Thanks to his idea, I moved from a cheapo nylon string guitar ($10) to a Mustang, my first "real" guitar. It's much like Ford didn't invent the car, but made them affordable to ordinary people. Both have profoundly changed society in many ways.

Happy Birthday, CLF !!

Musician's Friend has a trib to Leo on its site. It's odd the Fender site doesn't.

If Leo were still with us, he would have been 100 on 10th August.

Thanks for the great guitars and amps.

+1!
R.I.P. Leo.

Nice piece Brad, When you think of all the things that have come and gone in 60 years, things that were at the top ,things that were in fashion and no longer exist. Cars, televisions, clothes and so on and so on look nothing like they did 60 years ago.But a Tele and a Strat still do and are still at the top of the mountain that is some achievment .There are very few things you can say that about. Heres to the next 60.

Here's to the great Leo Fender. May you be looking down on all the joy and happiness you have brought to the world.

At the first Fender University last year, I was lucky enough to share a dinner table with the incredible Mrs. Phyllis Fender. We talked for a solid hour about the memories she had of sharing her life with Leo. She is a shining star and is one of the most genuine, incredible people I have ever met. Here's not only to Leo, but to you Mrs. Fender. Thank you for the wonderful memories.
