Does anyone have any particular software or device that they like to use to help figure out guitar parts by ear? I need something that will slow down the beat, yet keep it in-tune. Having the ability to seperate out the guitar parts would rock as well!

Thanks!

You can try guitar pro but you gotta pay money to get it. Unless you know someone who has it already. Besides that takes the fun out of trial and error, you never know you might stumble upon something that sounds really cool when trying to emulate something original.

My $0.02

I am not looking for software that will name the notes, I can do that by ear. Whay I am looking for is software that will slow the song down or maybe even sepreate out the guitar parts to make it easier to fignure out by ear. I have more songs than time to learn and need to streamline the process if possible.

Good luck, I've been looking for something like that for free for the longest time. I'm definetly not paying for anything, I don't need it that bad. But I never found anything close to what I was looking for. All I found was crap that required you to switch everything over to midi so you could slow it down without risking a change in pitch. So then I had to get a program that would convert mp3's into midi's, after all that, it still didn't work right. I just wanted something that could handle mp3's without changing anything.

If you come across anything let us know.

Winamp software has a plugin called PACEMAKER which lets you slow down or speed up a song. It also alows you to maintain the correct pitch at the same time. I think pacemaker costs $10.00, while Winamp 5.35 is free.
