This forum has me turning over the weirdest questions.

I've eyeballed the strap-locking system before with some curiousity. Any advantages outside of being able to switch it to another Fender quickly? Am I just as well off sticking to the punch in my leather strap?

Right now I dont use them but I will be getting them soon. sometimes the strap will twist around when I am switching guitars and it pops off when I put the weight on it.

I've tried some before but didn't like'em. They rattled too damn much. I put the regular buttons back on and gave up on straplocks all together. My strap has never come off before with the regular buttons, knock on wood, hehe.

I had a strap button on a P bass that was always loose. Replacing it with straplocks was a good idea for me. I got a guitar player that had a '63 Tele that just dropped in the middle of a set. Kinda crushed the wood around the control cavity.....again, no straplocks. So, I think straplocks are a pretty good idea.....................

Then you're lucky, i once dropped a guitar on a stone floor, stopped my
heart for a moment. No things broken but a lot of damage to the finish,
not the way to relic a guitar.
I use the rubber rings they use on beerbottles......Grolsch !

Cheers :D

^^^ oi, stole mah suggestion! haha. Yeah grolsch seals are the best, the bassist from RATM does the same.

Right now I use some cheapy plastic dunlop things that do the job fine on my Jazz bass (a lot heavier than a guitar! :))

I want to get some for my bass, I don't think my bass will actually fall off but I just want them in case.

Schaller Straplocks on all but my Tele since buying a new Strat Plus in 1988 that came with a set.

I don't use them with my Tele because it's too microphonic (like great Teles often are, and should be) and you can hear them rattle through the amp!

Oh, and I wouldn't play a Les Paul standing up without them.

I tried Schaller Straplocks on one of my guitars - I found it extremely hard (impossible actually) to correct get the parts on my Fender Deluxe Wide Guitar Strap.

So I've switched to Dunlop Dual Design Straplocks - they work fine on each strap and they fit and look nice on each guitar.

Schaller Straplocks here.
I have dropped the no-name which gave it some character :)
Don't want to risk the real thing doing a bounce, the QMT finish looks to pretty to bang up :D

Same here, although I dont actually worry too much about my Strats. I kinda know that you cant do any major damage to a Fender unless you want to, but dropping a guitar can be embarrassing and a bit of a shock to the system
