hi everyone!

as you can see by my handle i'm a first time strat guy. i just picked up a standard american yesterday. i've got a question about the model numbers that qualify and the one i bought. on the rebate form it shows the 011-0402-7XX as a qualifying model. however on my receipt it shows 011-0402-506. as you can see, the last 3rd digit is a 5 and not a qualifying 7. why is this? i couldn't find any info online by googling the 506 model number. anyone have any idea what the 506 designates?

The XX Is supposed to be for the colour, Meaning each different colour has a different last 2 digits. Look on the qualifying list and look at the fineprint youll see it says something like "XX, Denotes colour" etc. Hopefully This helps, because I just recently Encountered the same thing.

Yes, I understand that the XX is for color but in the qualifying models for a American Standard Strat the last three digits start at 7XX, but my printed receipt is 5XX (mine is 506 to be more specific).

Ohhh I see Sorry about that. I checked over all of the models on the this website and nothing matched so My only guess is its a few years back model. Have you asked the dealer about this? Cause in order to get the rebate they need to fill it out so I sugest you check back in and clarify.

yeah i went back to the dealer and they told me it was their "exploded" view of the inventory because they threw in an SKB hardshell case with the guitar.

i also called fender and they said that redeeming the rebate shouldn't be a problem.

Right on! I received my $100 rebate check yesterday in the mail. No hitches with the model #s. I even got a awesome deal from Guitar Center... $995 for an American Standard Strat and SKB case PLUS a Frontman 15G amp thrown in! I was also able to use the 20% off Guitar Center class action settlement coupon AND get the rebate on top of that!

Congrats on the rebate. Today is the last day. The receipt must be dated 9/15/09 or before to qualify... I've been lusting after a Blizzard Pearl Maple Strat at my local shop. The owner called me before he made his last Fender order and asked me if I was going to buy another one what would it be? Guess what I told him?
