I can only imagine how one feels to perform in place of one’s idol, and to receive their acceptance. Aretha owned it with Nessun Dorma.

The video with JB both performing with Luciano and having his and Betty Jean Newsome’s composition taken on by Pavarotti is definitely icing on the cake. I think that added to JB’s big smile. To have the talent and to be accepted as both a vocalist and a songwriter by the great Italian legend? With that kind of interpretation and arrangement? Wow! It ain’t gonna happen; but, I’d take it any day. :D
