Thunderous applause for Brad Paisley's World Tour (one of the best guitar evenings I've ever heard).

I gotta practice my drawl, because there's no way I'm even going to try to play like that!

Sounds like you and Mrs. FSB had a terrific time. It must have been quite a show! :D
Marky, I'll explain it this way.

First, I am a lover of many kinds of music from all eras. From singing monks to some Heavy Metal and everything in between, Although, not everything passes the test.

Country is the same for me - old country, new country, country ballads, and country rock are good to go. That doesn't give it a pass to be at the top of my list. The competition is strong.

That said, anytime I've seen Brad on TV or the Net, it's been a pleasure at least for me. But, tonight's performance convinced me that anything I've seen before is a pale comparison to his present World Tour.

The audience was tough on the opening acts. They liked them, but they were so Canadian. The stardom of Brad (even before an appearance) grabbed their attention leaving little to share with the hard working openers who could have been a leading act and sometimes have been. Perhaps. the crowd wanted more tractor Country music. I don't know.

But, as the concert went on, the audience continued to warm up only because of Lyndsay Ell's and Chase Bryant's efforts, and savvy how to work the crowd. At the end of the night the crowd was deafening.

I've directed major entertainment, as many here know, and I have to say this was, aside from the excellent musicianship from everyone, one of the best flowing visually produced shows I've been fortunate to have seen.

It may be because it is a World Tour, but I found no fault, no politics in your face, a slight classy mention incorporated as to looking towards a positive future without taking sides or dropping names, and so much to give kudos about including Paisley's terrific drummer, and as Brad put it, the world's best steel guitar player (joking that he came from Saskatchewan).

Each entertainer paid their respect with Glen Campbell tunes.

Briefly, you had to be there. If you get a chance, do yourself a favour and be there. You will get your money's worth in triplicate, and no I am not on the payroll, and nor did I get a free shirt. Mrs. FSB who does not wear cowboy boots (although, I have) or a Stetson said it was up there with the best concert she had been to. That's 2 for 2.

A great night, thanks Marky.

FSB
Apologies for being long on this concert; but, I wouldn't want anyone to miss the opportunity should it come your way.

It sounds like it was absolutely fantastic, FSB and that's high praise coming from a professional like yourself. It looks like I missed my opportunity to see the concert in June when he was in Phoenix. I wonder if there will be an HBO special, or something like that, of it. I'll keep my eyes open. Thanks for your detailed post.
