Despite having spent a year or so playing bass in a country/rock band back in the day I never really became much of a country music fan.
That said, I've recently been listening to Dallas Smith.
I'm not sure I'd call all of his music country.
Maybe that's why I can listen to it.

Don't feel bad. We all get caught sooner or later. I got caught sooner.

That's probably because of the phoney drawls from all of the varathane hat drug store cowboys from LA.

C'mon, fess up. It's the vocoder, the rap, the smoke machine, pyrotechnics, and the girls in their onesies that grabbed ya in today's country music.

When they get older we're likely to see these dudes and dudettes in glitter - riding horses, and yelling, "Giddy Up", in the Rose Bowl parade, and in the Stampede. Save me a front row seat. I'll meet ya there, partner. :lol:
