Sukiyaki by Taste Of Honey
Their 1981 English version of Kyu Sakamoto's Ue O Muite Aruko recorded 20 years earlier. Kenny Ball and his Jazzmen recorded it in '62 as Sukiyaki. I'm kinda attached to this song because my father introduced it to me after he and a friend met Kyu on a night out on the town in Japan. Sadly, Kyu at 43 died in a Japan Airlines disaster in 1985. :(

Happily the song lives on and is still relevant today. :D
