I just happened to stumble onto this great find -a CD & DVD combo for $8 of Albert King & Stevie Ray Vaughan : In Session. It says in the liner notes that it was recorded in the studios of CHCH (an independant TV station), Hamilton, Ontario (40 miles west of Toronto) on December 6th, 1983. Stevie was 29 years old at the time. I will quickly take photo of the front and back. I love my blues but never even knew this album existed! Was released on the Stax label for those interested.

I happened to picked up this same CD on Friday and I've been listening to it all weekend. I love it.

Also picked up "Muddy Waters - The Definitive Collection" which is also great.

Today I'm listening to one of my favourite Stones albums, Let It Bleed! Is anyone else out there familar with this new blu-ray audio format called "Pure Audio"? It's high definition audio recorded in 24bit/192kHz. Sounds absolutely amazing!! Really punchy drums, defined bass wiithout being muddy, and perfect all-round clarity! The menu gives you three formats to choose from: Dolby True HD/ DTS-HD / PCM - all at 24/192. To my ears they all sound very similar, though the True HD did seem a touch louder. I wish I could upload a sample but thats impossible so instead I just recommend you investigate further at your local music store if your interested.
