Nice. I'm waiting on my vinyl now.

Her voice is still strong, but some of the tunes are taking awhile to get into.

Listening to Steely Dan's "Katy Lied" this morning.

I figure she's earned the benefit of doubt from me more than most artists. There will likely be a few tunes I dig, a few that are okay, and some I just can't get into. I'm okay with that.

Never was a fan of Steely Dan, but I am a huge fan of Yatch Rock. If you've never heard of it. It's pretty funny. Steely Dan makes an "appearance" in episode 3. The whole series is hysterical, though.

Thanks for the heads-up on Yacht Rock - really cool, funny stuff in that whole series. :D

Listening to Robert Cray before hitting the blues jam tonight.

The 8 Tracks channel on Sonic Tap on DirecTV satellite. Talk about a mix mash of rock-based genres from the 60's to early 80's. Where else can you hear Joy Division then Van Morrison, or Syd Barrett Pink Floyd then the Clash? :P

An old friend and my bass teacher (Randy Coven) who recently passed away (RIP) jamming with Phil X in the early 90s when they were both in their prime (technically at least).

Sorry to hear it. He was pretty rockin'

got some old vinyl that wasn't destroyed in last year's flood out, as I write this :

is spinning.

(Now I remember who Gov't Mule always reminded of in the back of my mind.)

Thanks and also thank for the ARS ....awesome.

You might appreciate this also from Coven on youtube (again the sound quality is not that great) jamming a cover with Al Pitrelli and Zakk Wylde back in 1992. The musicianship is mind boggling.
