I'm sure most of you've heard of him if not from The Band from Clapton's last Crossroads Festival. He's probably my favorite guitar play and songwriter of all time (would make sence since The Band is my favorite band)

I know awhile back we kept talking about his Strat setup but this isn't about that

I found this interesting video about the making of The Band's self titled second LP http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yI61Cr-2V0s&feature=PlayList&p=5C7AC48A3D4AAD83&index=3&playnext=4&playnext_from=PL

It's from that "Classic Albums" series

Around 1:30 in theres a interesting bit about his playing

Couple of guest appearances by George Harrison and Eric Clapton in there 8)

If you like The Band I HIGHLY reccomend you go back and watch the entire 5 part thing

Another good video with him and Willie Dixon

If you're a fan, check out Music For The Native Americans, by Robbie Robertson. I love his stuff, solo or otherwise. I'm listening to Storyville right now :D

Try and find some of his playing with Ronnie Hawkins. The Hawk's Mr Dynamo is a good one.

Also, a cool interview here with him from two years ago :

I'm not being a troll, but Robinson 'stole' the songwriting credits to The Band's song according to Levon Helm. Helm writes about this in his book 'This Wheel's on Fire: Levon Helm and the Story of the Band' http://www.amazon.com/This-Wheels-Fire-Levon-Story/dp/1556524056/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&s=books&qid=1249507181&sr=1-1.

Also at 'The Last Waltz' concert, his mic was turned off during the concert.

As far as him being a 'great' guitar player, I can play like that, but he has a Fender Strat signature guitar and I don't.

Yeah........I've read Levon's book a few times through myself.........I've never taken a side on that issue......Still I was like 6 when I first heard his playing.....no matter what He'll always be my favorite guitarist
