Watch out, those colleges will nickel and dime you. In the future go on-line to see if you can get your course books cheaper. Hope you have fun with it. Best of luck...I envy you.

@bbrodie, just had to say it, when I read your post the first time I thought maybe since I graduated they'd come up with an even higher level of honors...

(apologies to anyone offended by the bad language in my mind...)

I laughed out loud when I spotted the same thing. These adventures in unnecessary censorship make me ask, "What's going on?" to quote Marvin !@$ -- I mean Gaye... 8)

I just wonder if you're gonna be in a room full of students you're
lightyears ahead of.

By the way, what bad habits did you pick up. Wasn't the Cabernet was it?
'cause, me too.

I've heard word that California Community College tuition may go up this fall due to the budget crisis. Sorry for the raincloud

California has, what I think is, the cheapest tuition rates of any cummunity college systems in the U.S. (please correct me if I'm wrong, folks). Even in light of this fact an education can be expensive...

Example: 3 unit Biology class...$26 per unit=$78
The Book for the class...$151!

Include a few more classes, more books, health fees, ASO fees, parking, etc...It does add up fast! I feel for full time students and students in other states where the tuition rates are much higher.

Don't get me wrong..I agree with Snowy...an education of any kind is a great investment (I went back and finished my Master's degree). Grab all the tuition assistance you can and enjoy!

I think we are about the cheapest for community college rates. I've never gotten any argument from the budget & finance committee when I send staff over to the local CC to advance skills.

It's the books that get you though! I worked at a 2 year college for 10 years, and books were the biggest cost for most students. The prices went up almost every year and they'd quickly invalidate editions so you often couldn't save by getting used copies. At fully accredited schools "they" pretty much forced you to always use the latest edition. They included accrediting agencies, licensing agencies and publishers doing their best to kill the used text market.

You seem more like someone who should be teaching guitar.
Then you'd be making 497.39 and more....

Still, going back to school seems like fun. Not to mention the co-ed
possibilities.

Thank You. I have done some guitar teaching in the past. However, I feel that going back to the very beginning basics will do me a world of good. I have picked up too many bad habits over the years.
I'm pretty sure I will make some new friends...............

Have fun Chet and try not to think about the expense part it will be worth it!
