Well, I did not realize just how expensive school was going to be. I don't know how full time students can afford this.

Enrollment Fee is $26 per unit. Then there is : Health Fee, Student ID Fee, Student Center Fee, Parking Permit

Sub Total at this point for me is: $198.50
Add 5 Books for 3 Classes: $174.39
Beater Guitar: $50
Backpack (Holds Laptop too): $74.50

Updated Sub Total: $497.39

Good luck with the fees. Do you still plan on attending?

All of those have been paid. That is my expenses to this point.

Yes, I am still attending and actually looking forward to it.

I don't know if Cali does this, but North Carolina has a tax free weekend for school supplies. Here it is August 7-9. Good luck!

You seem more like someone who should be teaching guitar.
Then you'd be making 497.39 and more....

Still, going back to school seems like fun. Not to mention the co-ed
possibilities.

Thank You. I have done some guitar teaching in the past. However, I feel that going back to the very beginning basics will do me a world of good. I have picked up too many bad habits over the years.
I'm pretty sure I will make some new friends...............

Chet, try looking into scholarship money. I went to college at age 40, graduated at 52 Summa $@! Laude. I received half my tuition costs that way for a year. I had a ball.
Good Luck

I'm checking into several different things to help pay fees and such.

I've heard word that California Community College tuition may go up this fall due to the budget crisis. Sorry for the raincloud

California has, what I think is, the cheapest tuition rates of any cummunity college systems in the U.S. (please correct me if I'm wrong, folks). Even in light of this fact an education can be expensive...

Example: 3 unit Biology class...$26 per unit=$78
The Book for the class...$151!

Include a few more classes, more books, health fees, ASO fees, parking, etc...It does add up fast! I feel for full time students and students in other states where the tuition rates are much higher.

Don't get me wrong..I agree with Snowy...an education of any kind is a great investment (I went back and finished my Master's degree). Grab all the tuition assistance you can and enjoy!

I'll trade you. I am looking @ 40K per year for my daughter to go to school. :)

Best of luck. I went back to school at 30, it was money well spent.
