I don't really know why except there are probably fewer bassists and fewer "superstar" level on top of that. A lot of the Strat and Tele posts are of a "who's the best ...", "How do I get 'this' sound .." and "what would I use for X type of music" nature.

Add to that the idea that good bassists fit in with the sound, keep the band moving and form that "what was his name again" glue between the headliner singer, blazin' Strat slinger and hard-rockin' drummer. As with customer service (my function at work), everyone recognizes the value and the better you are at it, the more in demand. But chances are, you're not going to stand out because if you do C/S right, you don't stand out.

Just goes to proves us Tele players are busy playing, whilst our Strat bro's and sister's are on here raking up the post count, arguing who has the best axe :P Interesting all the same, cheers Mike.

P.S. Are MIM better than MIA

I think it might be because every band only needs one bass player, so most of them are out giggin' and sleepin' in days?

Jamerson vs Jaco?
