Electrics sure, cause I will know the person who is playing and I don't think they can really can't do that much damage to a solid body guitar. Acoustic or archtop is a different story. I let a friend play one of my Martins and he was strumming it real hard and his follow through was hitting the pick guard. I didn't want to grab from him, so I just sat there hoping that he didn't cause any permanent damage. Was I relieved to get it out of his hands. Next time he plays my Fender beater acoustic.

Absolutely NOT!!

I've got a lot invested in my gear and I'm very selfish and protective of it. If the person is a real musician, he/she will have their own gear. If they want to try out something they can go to a shop and do so.

Don't come within 6 feet of my gear or terrible things might happen.
