I've got way too many guitars to play them all at once so... you break it you buy it.

No way!

My other guitarist uses his dad's Epi Sheraton II and somehow he got ripped off of it and he thinks that its worth $900 and I'm like my koa is more than that! even though its worth $800 his Epi is worth 600 if that.

My tele used is worth more than that, I have no clue how much it cost new probably $900 or maybe $1,000

I only ever let people who play guitar (or bass) play my guitar, and even then not for long; I mean, it is mine. As for the amp, no one else really ever has to use it because I don't have jam sessions at my house so everyone always has their own amp with them.

Nah, that's a no-no. Nobody is allowed to touch my guitar. My amp on the other hand, maybe, but your only allowed to plug "YOUR" guitar into it and play, however you can't never touch the knobs, I'll adjust the knobs for you if it's a matter of life or death.

My acoustic, since it's a piece of $@!&, you can play, touch, bang around or do whatever you want with it.

My "Baby" is a 1966 Fender Mustang, I've had since new, and still all original. Everyone knows better than to ask.

1966 Fender Mustang
1965 Fender Super Reverb
Fender Tone and Volume pedal

There is just one rule in my house.

Read any books or magazines you want, just don't crease the spines or pages. Watch any DVD or TV channel you want, or play any PS3 game, or listen to any CD. Use my computer. Help yourself to food and drink. My house is your house. But if you touch any of my guitars or anything else with "Fender" written on it I'll be opening up a world of pain.

Rule applies to all, including partner's 89 year old grandma.

yep same rule for me. i'm a control freak to begin with and then with my guitar(s) it's another story... 8)

Not anymore!! Back in the '70s, I loaned my amp to a guy with a gig. It was an Ovation with vinyl covering. Came back to me with cigarette burns. Now all I'm willing to do is let you look at my gear from a distance.

Unless I've known you for 30+ years as a musician and I know you have the money to replace my gear the next day.....you ain't touching my stuff!!! There are currently 3 people who fit that description.

Absolutely not! I used to get asked all the time with my last band,if so and so could try my equipment,to which I always replied,NO! I eventually gained a reputation as a arrogant $@!&#,but you know what? I spent too much money to but what I have, just so some drunk can come on stage and ruin my gear? No way.You wanna play? Get your own stuff.Hands off!

I know man....it's bad enough when you drop/break/dent your gear, but when someone else does it makes you mad as hell. So if you wanna try out my guitar go to GC and take one of the beat up ones off the wall to play.

I never did understand how people think they've got a right to use other peoples stuff...and get pissed when you say no. I'm sure they wouldn't give a drunk stranger the keys to their car!! Hell, I've got guitars worth more then their damn cars!

I have two friends I would let use my gear because I know they would treat it as their own and they have the means to replace whatever was damaged. Other than that, no one uses it. I used to have people get mad at me when they wanted to sit in for a song and I refused to let them play my guitar or plug into my stuff. Oh well, you want to play someplace, get your own gig. I worked too hard, and saved too long, to get nice stuff only to let some drunk decide to pull a Hendrix with it - or pass out face first onto my guitar off a four foot stage.
