Happy birthday and neato axe!!!

(And hopefully you never get informed, as I was three weeks ago, that you are now "the oldest non-executive in the company." Gee ... thanks! I think ...)

But being over 50 can be cool, especially when you can get away with blaming things you forget (like, "Oh, gee I'm sorry, I forgot to turn the volume down") on impending Alzheimers.

Then of course there's the fact that you can't hear too well anymore -- that has it's uses as well (like "Oh, sorry boss ... didn't hear you say you were looking for 'volunteers' to work all weekend").

Declining vision -- an asset! ("Sorry dear, I really didn't see those three trash bags by the back door ..")

Bad back, yep ... "Sonny, when I was your age I could pick up THREE of those 2 X 12 bass cabs, hold a conversation and chew gum at the same time. Why I bet you can't even pick up that one and set it on the stage ..."

The knees really do "go first" -- which explains why you can't possibly put down the birthday guitar, stand up and go cut the grass.

I've come to realize that being 50+ is GREAT ... so enjoy!

Belated HAPPY and congrats on the new "girlfriend." Lovely.

According to the doctor with whom 'am working on a book project, you are now 1/3 of the way to the end of your earthly days....or at least, what will be the human lifespan in not too long.

And lest ye laugh, remember tin 1900, life expectancy in the USA was 47.

Take care of and use joyfully and protect what you have. Many more!

Happy Belated BDAy Jeffo46. Man, I'm right there behind you. Six more years, and I'll hit the big 50 as well. It seems like when we get older, the years seems to go by much faster.......
