Has anyone here had any experience with Hughes & Kettner amplifiers? I'm intrigued by the 25th Anniversary Edition Tube 20W 1x12 that Musician's Friend is advertising for $699.

Has anyone tried this or any other amps from this company?

yep, i use a h & K edition tube. i like the clean sound very well. at gear tests in guitar mags like gitarre & bass h&k amps gets often good ratings.

as for every gear is a taste question. check the sound files here:

or check before in your near store.

cheers :D

Hey Mike,

I actually demo'd that very amp yesterday and was fairly impressed with it although its not quit the sound I was looking for. My reason for posting this is to let you know that the local shop where I tried it yesterday has a scratch and dent model for $299 (it had a small ding in the top lip). I know from past experience that they have sold stuff on ebay, and have on occasion sold stuff via email or over the phone. If your interested in talking to them about it I can give you their contact info via facebook.

But, yes, that does sound worth pursuing. I'll message you via Facebook. Thanks for the heads-up! 8)
