hey guys,

im a strat player and love the sound of daddario strings, the only thing is that i cant play them because i have the most sweatiest hands on the planet... seriously. when im writing in class or doing ANYTHING with my hands they are constantly sweating. you could imagine how wet my strings get when i play.

so heres my problem...

i have switched to a coated string but am alittle worried of how much it is deadening my sound.

does anyone recommend a good coated string?

i have been using dr coated and they have been serving me well but i just want to know what else is out there.

thanks

Maybe a set of half-rounds would help ?

Excessively sweaty hands has a name, and I think doctors can treat that... I've heard of it in rock climbing. Not sure what it takes or anything though, try google.

May I recommend Elixir strings? They are more expensive but are specially coated to prevent rust. Trust me, these strings DO NOT rust, its insane! They stay shiny for months! Yes they eventually loose their tone but they don't rust, which is a big problem for sweaty hands.

Also, if you use regular strings its worth investing it some Fast-Fret. Its a solution you apply after wiping down the strings after playing that keeps the strings shiny and stops them rusting so quickly.

Rock on

No talcum powder is enough...
I found out the best solution (temporarily holds effect) is to use magnesium powder (this you can find in your local sporting goods store under the rock climbing equipment.
Otherwise frequently wash your hands or hold your wrists under cold water.
As you can tell I'm also one of the many that is plagued by this social horror (when shaking hands this tends to ruin a business deal).
:(
Anyway hope this helps!
