i own an acoustic guitar ( kinda cheap with bad action) and it was really hard to play at first but now i'm used to it. when i was playin a tele at gc my normal playing was beating the crap out of the poor guitar. i was really surprised because i always thought i was a light handed player (which i guess i am for acoustic). after a little while i adjusted but i still was a little heavy. i loved the easy playability it was addictive.

Acoustics always seem to need a little more in the way of a touch.I've got a Martin OOO-15S,which is one of the most sensitive guitars made and it still needs a lot more then my strat.Have you tried DADFAD on your acoustic by the way,one of my favorites.

Acoustics are making their music from the audible unamplified vibrations of the strings in the air as assisted by the musical woods. So, you've got to pluck those strings good. I played a lot of acoustic before I played electric, and then for a long time played more acoustic than electric before I took flight. You pick hard on acoustic or you get nada. An electric allows a very light touch for quick picking, often with a very low action.
