Thanks, I saw your other post on that subject and was just watching the demo vids at notionmusic.com. That progression software looks amazing!

Finally bought some notation software yesterday so I can have a formal tool to write songs, hold ideas, and print lead sheets.

I dont have the money to buy my own recording device, as I'm only 13.
But I have recorded at school with a BOSS recorder. Dunno what brand it was, didn't pay that much attention. We recorded "rape me", by nirvana.

SAm Ash has the Samson MediaOne 3a Active Studio Monitors (Pair) $99.99 http://www.samash.com/p/MediaOne%203a%20Active%20Studio%20Monitors%20Pair_-49958037.

I brought a pair to replace my generic computer speakers, they are great sounding, with a small footprint, plus you get pair of Auralex monitor isolation pads.

Peter,
My gorgeous bride got me a pari of the KRK Rokit G2 5s for Christmas! I absolutely love them. I use them and several other speakers to mix and reference my recordings! I love their response. For my lows I am boosting them with a parametric eq...see if that helps you a little bit.

Wow Home Recording thread comes back to life with a flurry of new posts.
That's Great :!:
Congarats all on the new kit!

Only new pieces I've added lately are a pop filter for the sm-58 mic,
and I picked up a sm-57 instrument mic.

Found this thread.

this is Great. I used to have a modest Protools set up which was successful in allowing me to work at home while i was a sound editor as well as tracking and mixing a demo for my cousins band Dirty on Purpose. Hoping to rebuild a studio in the basement when the kids get older and hopefully interested in music. Right now I have free access to full Protools HD systems and Iso booths and what not so if I get the urge I can just go use those. I have a tune I had recorded on an old 4 track Cassette recorder which I dumped into Protools recently and added some parts to. Hoping to get someone from work to lay down some drums and eventually finish it off with words and what not. Maybe i'll eventually be brave enough to post.

at any rate... i LOVE this thread. Hopefully There will be more discussion on this topic.

I love to write songs and record them. There's something about creating something, from nothing, that just gives me a thrill.

I spent all my money on my guitar, bass and amps, so I use the
freeware I download online: Audacity & MultitrackStudio

Surprisingly good stuff & the price was right. :P

I record at least 3-4 times a week.
I have a studio in a bedroom in our house. It's were I go to hide from the wife...lol
It's my 'ManCave', compete w/ JBL monitors, guitars, basses, a mini-bar, and my guitar repair station. The head is down the hall, I am all set.
Any Fender Forum folks are welcome to stop in and lay a few tracks down.

With the release of the Fender Mustang amp, and the amps being bundled with Fender FUSE & Ableton, I feel it's I's time to revist this topic.

My SO brought me a Mustang I, my thought was to use it as a practice amp, but I quickly found that it's more than that, it records well IMO.

Here is a track I recorded using a BOSS BR-800 http://www.rolandus.com/products/productdetails.php?ProductId=1068&ParentId=110 my Cyber-Twin and Mustang amp "Mystic Dreams" http://soundclick.com/share.cfm?id=10381510
