I use my DeVille miced up through a Line 6 Gearbox and through Guitar-Rig II software and then to Cubase.

For drums I'm using loops from BetaMonkeyMusic.com. They've worked very well for me in the past. Just one complaint - I can't find loops suitable for classic Surf music.

I'm still trying to find time to learn how to use the drums in Submersible's KitCore, but I always seem to get interrupted.

Maybe someone can give you a basic track and you can edit the fills?

How many BPM and style?

Hi Mike!

I'm looking for something say 120 - 140 bpm. I think I can get it done with this KitCore player. I'm giving it a try tonight.

Drew Bach from IK Multimedia posted a topic about that AmpliTube Fender® 1.1 has been released http://www.fender.com/community/forums/viewtopic.php?t=24658.

This is a great amp model software and I just wanted to make that HR folks know about it.

Line6 is pushing their Amp Farm on me and NI wants me to buy more disks for the Kore player . . . and I might if and when I figure out how to use Kore efficiently. I have so much new software that my learning curve has become steep and very long.

BTW, we're on page 10 -- I think that's a new record for a recording thread here in the Forums.

Our church uses Cubase 5. We send 24 channels via TDIF to disk then tweek the mix a bit to make our weekly videos. You can check them out here:

www.harvestchurch4u.org
click on media
click on watch video.

FYI, I'm playing keyboards in the 2009-07-05 video and
guitar in the 2009-07-12 video (that's yesterday).

The lead guitarist and I use Line 6 X3 live floor units sent direct to the board. The keyboards (I'm using a Nord Electro 2 and a Korg Triton LE) and bass also run direct. All monitors are in-ear.

Blessings

I know a few that really like the Line6 stuff. Steve, do you have any mp3s on a hosting site like SoundClick, Songramp or ?

I have a PODxt that sees limited use and I've been using it more these days. I've been doing more writing than playing lately and I hope to record again soon. I have a couple of old, crappy demos on a couple of sites. As soon as I have some tracks that I feel are worthy, I'll let you know where they are.

You don't play when you write? I always write with guitar or keyboard.

I didn't mean to imply that I don't play and write at the same time, but I've been concentrating more on lyrics of late. I've started Jimmy Webb's book Tunesmith and I'm trying to apply what I'm learning. Now all I have to do is find time to finish the book . . . and the dozen or so songs I've started.

Oh, ok  . I read a few books when I first started writing, I got a few great tips, but I found that writing is a craft and you have to work at it.

I really didn't start writing, in earnest, until we decided to record our first CD ‘Prime Cut Blues’. I knew that if we recorded ‘covers’ that the critics wouldn’t give it a good review.

The first song I wrote was ‘I Love the Blues’ http://www.primeblues.com/I_Love_The_Blues.mp3, this was one tip I read about, write about someone/thing you love.

After that, whenever I thought of a title for a song I would start composing it. I have a notebook where I have just titles written down. I have a hour commute to my day job, and I have a digital voice recorder in the car, here is where I come up with the scratch lyrics. It usually doesn’t take me long to finish a song.

I too often begin with just a song title, but I maintain a list of them in a spreadsheet (146 title ideas at last count) along with a lot of other music and songwriting-related info such as websites, "to do" lists, production forms, budgets for equipment and services, and the like. This would be great if I had a PC notebook or even a BlackBerry but I don't. I don't keep a notebook or notepad handy either so any idea that isn't hastily scrawled on scrap paper tends to enter my sieve-like memory and evaporate into the ether.

My commute is NOT conducive to songwriting. Every morning I deal with a drawbridge, two sets of RR tracks, seven 15 mph school zones and too many traffic lights to count. They produce more aggravation than inspiration.
