are you a footswitch guy or effect pedals guy?
i use footswitch, because i like it to sound natural,
the only bad point is i have to rely a lot on the amp,
no, not the built in effects
but the amp overdrive

I'm a footswitch guy. I really don't have any use for pedals. I mess around with a wah every now and then, but that's about it.

I like a good clean amp sound.
For overdrive a Ibanez TS808 Tube Screamer, and a footswitch to engage
the tremolo. Sometimes a chorus pedal.

That's it, Peter 8)

I'm a guitar volume knob kind of guy. :D

My amps don't have channel switching or even a master volume control. I don't even have an overdrive pedal in my setup.

I set the amp dirty (2-6V6 twed amp) and back of the guitar's volume until it's clean. I crank up the guitar when I want more dirt.

I do the same with my Fulltone '69 Pedal.

If I use it for a song, it's on for the the whole song. I can back of the guitar's volume until it's clean, crank the guitar a bit for an overdrive tone and crank the guitar even more for total fuzztone mahem. Some songs, I'll gradually increase the guitar's volume over time.

I don't like using a switch or overdrive pedal mid song. It sounds unnatural to me.

I use a Super Overdrive A fender Reverb and a Vox Wah Wah. These cover the sounds I like to get out of my guitar.

I guess you could say I use both.

I run my signal into an A/B/Y switcher. The A side goes through a couple of OD pedals, an echo, etc. into a 59 Bassman. The B side goes straight into a Vox AC30 with an attenuator (to keep me from going more deaf than I already am).
