:?: beginning player, when strumming i have alot of pick noise, is this normal? do i need heavier picks?

Are you playing an electric unplugged? Most of the time if you are playing acoustic or a lot of rhythm you use a thin pick and for lead a heavy pick. I use Dunlop 1.14mm try a few sizes till you are comfortable. But I am still not sure what you mean by pick noise.Maybe you should explain it in more detail.

Try a .70mm pick for strumming and a 1.0 for picking. You could even choke up on your pick closer to the tip to cut back on pick noise.
