I like my Guitars/Basses setup with the neck as straight as possible and the action as low as I can get it with no buzz.
I am developing a very light touch and find that setup much better for me.

All my guitar's are set up differently.
I have a few set to Drop C with really high action,
as opposed to my blues guitars with low actions and straight necks.

Just depends on what I am playing.

The action has to be close for me/no buzz. I find that better suited for my long fingers, and faster playing when needed. Much easier to slide fingers up fret boards and a lot more comfortable on the tips of fingers when playing lead/solo.

Quite frankly, I have no idea what I'm doing when it comes to setting up a guitar. I just play them.

But I can tell you that I like:
low-medium action
10's in terms of string gauge
ALWAYS tuned a half step down.

The action on all my guitars is set at about 2mm on the 17th fret.

Big strings, high action, alittle bow and neck shim to raise the headstock end so I can have high action on the neck while at the same time keeping the bridge saddles low.
