Nkay. So, I got to missing my Dinky I sold a few months back and was on the prowl for a new shredder when I ran across this ESP LTD EC 1000 Deluxe. I demo'd it, then I demo'd it again. Thought about it. Tried to ignore it. But, in the end I caved and went back today and bought it. This guitar is a BEAST! Its thin, light, dark and sexy! And the tones... Where to begin? The cleans arent "amazing" but the break up is soo dark and evil! Money well spent!

Man you couldnt be more right! I came home early from work just to get some extra time in! I would have to advise you Flanker to seriously consider this guitar if you like playing harder stuff. It cleans up better than I thought it would, but that is by no means its strong point. Thanks for posting gentlemen, but I'm gonna go play some more!

Here's my new one. As you can see, it is fully shielded but it can still be a bit noisy:

Sorry, I just couldn't resist.

all thumbs,

the 81 60 is a classic set up on the les paul style guitar. I believe james has it set up differently.

Kirks real set up is a pair of 85's, however esp uses 81, 85 throughout the esp. ltd line.

Also i would try a pair of sd blackouts, i heard great things about them.

anyway man great guitar and keep on rocking

In my humble opinion, the 81/60 combo is the best EMG paring for dual, full sized humbucker type guitars.

Lots of luck with your new guitar!

81 60's are nice but i like dual 85's as well as 89 81.
