Well, more of a student recital, really. The music store where I take my lessons is having a tent sale on the weekend, and a number of my teacher's students are playing on Saturday afternoon. This will be my first performance in front of people! Several family members will be there so I'm sure at least a few folks will tell me it was good.

I'm doing three numbers - an original little open chord thing to start, then Walk Don't Run, then Ball and Chain by Social Distortion (which includes singing).

Very excited and nervous! I'll let you all know how it goes.

Awesome! Some of the best advice I can give anyone - play for people as often as possible: recital, house parties, club gigs, festivals, wherever. You'll learn more and push yourself more by playing for people, much faster by playing one "public" show that 10 basement jam sessions.

Hey, a gig is a gig! You'll probably find it exhilarating and addictive and you'll want to play out as often as possible. Have fun.

Nothing like that first gig. It seems to go by in aninstant. It's as if time accelerates and moments later it's all over! Have fun and enjoy and remember, relax, play true, and watch the tempo!
