I practice at least 1 hour per evening after work going over songs for the next week for Church. Then I just play for an hour if time allows to a jam track or work on a song that has stuck in my head. I'm desperate to work up some "standards" that other bands would know for auditions etc...

I also work thru a music theory and chord structure book. I practice scales and work on my ear recognition. It's a never ending, time consuming, sometimes boring, but always rewarding end to my day. My TV misses me and so do my golf clubs...

At least an hour, usually after lunch, during the week. Alas the week-ends are the providence of the "Honey Do" list. Being newly retired gives me enough time for both, and yes, backing tracks are the greatest thing since "Uncle Leo's" pride and joy.

For me, there's no set time slots for that. I play a lot, rehearse with bands, play shows, but don't do as much actual "practicing" as I'd like.

Average week...

- playing: 8hrs -16hrs
- practicing: 1-2 hrs

Veritably none, ever, on guitar. 'Just sit down and play for as long as time is available, from 2 minute to a few hours.

Bass for church...we get together a half to hour to go through the new stuff, right before Mass. More for big litugical holidays.

Haha, I do that occasionally. :P Then I sometimes wake myself up by dropping my pick out of my hand right onto the pickguard. Then I lift myself up off of the bed and finish practicing.

I normally practice for about an hour to two hours each day. I almost always practice right before I go to bed, which is stupid, because I always hit the pillow at around 12:00 or 1:00 these days. The reason that's stupid is because I have to wake up at 7:30 every morning to head out to bike/walk to swim practice.

Anyway, I'm going to go take a shower now 'cause I came back from swim practice not too long ago, and then go and practice our homework that we had to do for our guitar class that's tonight. :P

I tend to wake up and grab it in the first few minutes, and just noodle mindlessly, or try to come up with some groove, lick or progression. I love days where I can just stay in my man-cave and play all day without distractions. Just guitars, some food, some good drinks, and that's it. I'll have to plan a day or two like that on my next vacation.

These days, I'm averaging about an hour of practice time every day, sometimes more, sometimes less. It's often tough to find the time, but almost everyone can find the time to get in at least about 30 minutes or so of practice time daily. Just look at the time you'd normally spend watching TV or going online and you should be able to find at least half-an-hour...

Plus, try to keep practice time structured with specific goals in mind. If you go into your practice thinking, for example, "okay, today I'm going to work on my minor pentatonic scales, pg. 31 in my book and the riff from 'Crazy Train,'" it'll probably be more productive than just sitting there and noodling for 30 minutes...

being a student, seriously i don't have much time to spend training and playing everyday. however i made effort as i will wake up early every morning and starts my daily routine with guitar. i love doing it, as playing guitar makes both sides of my brains working. at least i'll not be having much difficulties concentrating during morning lectures. in total, maybe i spent more or less about 3 hours everyday to polish my skills.

It really varies with me. Sometimes I can go about every other day for 4 hours (usually playing with someone)........then again....sometimes I feel I need a break from it and don't play for a week.

I bring my guitar to work, and because I work the night shift, in a slow paced job, I can play all night just about. I usually get at least 2 hours of practice on the average night at work :D

Ok, that prompts 2 questions now:

Where do you work? And are they hiring?
