i think its cool that fender gave us a lounge to talk all things fender and anything else we want to share.

granted you have an opinion on what you like and don't like, we all have one too. That is why fender gave us other sections such as strats, tele, other etc....

If you want to chat things up on strat only, fender was nice enough to give us that room.

This is one of the coolest forums around, I was on a few and i got tired of all the bitching and flaming of why this game system is better than that or why this car out performs so and so.

granted there is alot of bitching here too, but fender is quick to sort it out.

I'll tell you what it's cool you posted this thread because it gives you a chance on why us members are passionate about what we write.

...however, in this picker / Fender-hanger-outer's thoughts, the strictly musical stuf sometimes gets mono-tonic. We are all folks, most of us with lives and values and concerns beyond electric guitars and music.

And some folks here are e-pals...and this is a "lounge," so while we are predominantly Fender-ly and Guitar-ly and Amp-ly, a few wayward off-topic threads are actually rather welcome, here.

In another facet of this opinion, it's refreshing the admins are so classy, they let the "lounge" atmosphere (rather than music store) philosophy run free.

As you said, you're free to not open threads which you consider irrelevant.

Couldn't have said it any better.

Yup, My guess is thats why there are different areas in which to post and not just the MUSIC Section! The Strat page to talk Strats and the Tele for the Tele Talk and so on. Now is the lounge for talking about lounge's or would it be and area in which friends can lounge around the board and talk what you would with a friend at a lounge? Me I enjoy hearing what fellow guitar players do in life how they feel about politics the economy we are not The Borg humanoid drones with one mind collective.

Sorry. I like to talk about other things from time to time. You never know when you may actually help someone in need. A few kind words in moments of blackness really means a lot to people. It may even save a life.

I also like the statement Slapchop made. I would like to see more posts on music in a technical way. Like how some guys see things laid out on the fretboard or mix arpeggios with there scales.

yea, this is the Fender Lounge, designed for random talking into the wind. see other departments on the site for what you seek.

heck, you'd probably HATE the FDP. go hang out in Moe's Tavern section and let us know who talks more about every facet of their lives haha

Don't read what you're not interested in. I skip a lot of stuff that I have no interest in. I don't see what the big deal is.
