When the Beatles first came to the US, one of their biggest shows was on The Ed Sullivan Show. That studio is still there and The David Letterman Show is broadcast from there.

Before appearing on Letterman's show last night, the band did a 45-minute show up on the roof in NYC. I hope that I have half of his energy when I'm 68 years old!

Here's some footage :

That was actually just on top of the marquee.

Great show. I usually don't watch Letterman, but I did last night to Sir Paul.

I saw that on the news.. :!: ... immediately was reminded of The Beatles playing on top of Apple for "Let It Be" . I will be at Citifield ( new name for the Mets stadium ) to see Paul on Saturday - I hope Ringo will show up and play some Beatles songs ....... :D

You have to love CNN's reporting. In the "highlights" list, they talk about Paul performing before "Late Night with David Letterman."

Dave left Late Night in 1993, was replaced by Conan, and it's now hosted by Jimmy Fallon. Dave hosts "The Late Show."

I watched it last night on Letterman, and most of the concert is already on YouTube. The quality varies, but it's there. Helter Skelter, Back in the USSR, Get Back, Eleanor Rigby, Band on the Run, and one from The Firemen.

[EDIT] CBS has it on the Late Show website:

I remember going to the first Beatles movie "Hard Days Night" at the theater, when it opened. Tickets were in the shape of the Beatles.

thanks Mike, is that a mesa bass amp next to the vox? a fender rep should be all over that, or maybe not.

It is amazing to see how much Paul still loves to perform at his age.His voice still sounds great and you can feel him pouring his heart into every note.
