It's been the toughest two weeks of my life, with no end in sight. I'm hanging in there and trying to be strong. Thanks for asking, my friend.

You are strong for sure Marky. Hanging in there can get rough Brother. I have a crew around me so someone to persuade me to see the Doc. My niece took me there today.

Thanks Rollie. You are blessed to have a loving crew. :)

I can get around the house pretty well on my own but when I go out I use a power wheelchair. My arms/shoulders aren't strong enough to use a regular wheelchair. I'm mobile, but not very fast. :)

Pretty terrific licks with lots of nuances from Chris Buck there, Mike. I knew of Peter Honoré; but, I hadn't heard of Chris. He sounds like a very versatile and knowledgable player to reckon with. He's got a lot to offer for his years for sure. There's a lot happening with his playing and genre ability like Lenny Breau (who also was on call for variety programs at CTV Toronto). It's not simply the upfront playing that grabs ya, it's the multi-textured talent that shows through. All players in that realm are not equal, and many have their own approach and style liked or not and, like vocalists, it is this difference that separates them and, if lucky, leads to a key of success. My thinking is that you will find more attention to background self accompaniment for and with simultaneous melody and, for lack of words, fill in using acoustic (or acoustic/electric) with classical and with players like Tommy Emmanuel (along with others of course) and with rock like Heart's Wilson Sisters and more (but lacking many), and then, perhaps, jazz players, and then again, maybe, country pickers like Roy Clark, Chet Atkins, and their kind. It may even be that classical, and country (to some but lesser extent blues) are in this fullness category based on historical instances where you might be the only player in the neighbourhood (and you better be good because a) there are no other bands to migrate to and b) you are the entertainment). Nothing in this world says that theory is the case, but the self taught and passed on talent in remote areas of the world are definitely a marvelous wonder. This is not to say that you won't find a similar depth in rock, but often it is based on electric lead, rhythm, and bass. and, perhaps, keyboard being separate and yet joined at the hip, where each player fills the void (and yes, I know there are some great rockers that come to mind). Jimi and SRV come to mind for exceptions that fit the whole regardless of backup. But, that can't be said for much of the genre based on need and the gamut of sub genres. Oh, don't forget the possibilities with stomp boxes, modeling, and so on. All of that can be enhanced with the fingers and technique. I believe it's highly noticeable as to the difference with the hands on toolbox a player can bring (often transferred) to the equation. IMHO.

Me?? If I'm playing one thing at a time on the acoustic or Strat I'm doing good. Kinda sad because I don't hear that way, and it would be sweet to not have to lay down extra tracks to get that full sound. Excuse me while I play Pipeline, followed by Shaking All Over while kicking my little used looper aside to get at my effects. :P
Cheers!

Actually, I'm quite pleased with my playing. I can hit notes and sounds that I'll challenge anybody to reproduce. 8)

All good points. I was kind of amazed at the sound he got from the new Boss
Nextone Amp. Hmm....I'll bet a few Katanas will be on the classifieds soon.
