You’re welcome, SBLS.

That song gave a young girl from my high school a screen test in Hollywood. A lot of local rock/pop bands did it in 65/66. Not like Billy, but Gershwin’s contribution was a popular rock/pop song nevertheless.

Sadly. four years after the song, in January 17, 1970 at the age of 32, Billy Stewart and four members of his band died as Billy’s new T-Bird came into contact with a bridge and a river in North Carolina. The cause behind the accident was questionable.

Joe Walsh is on my go to list. That axe of his is not too shabby, chromeface. Good song too. :D
A little pleasantry from the Fab 1. Thanks, Mike.

The one and only:

The “Up On Cripple Creek / The Night They Drove Old Dixie Down” guitar eventually sold for $490,000. (In comparison, 2013 saw Dylan’s questionable maybe is/maybe isn’t “Like A Rolling Stone” Stratocaster sold for $965,000. This was the highest auctioned off guitar at the time).

Now ya know. :D

Well I'm not hearing any great songs on McCartney's new one but the concert linked above
gave some of the tunes a better feel played live. Clearly at 76, his voice is cracking and he's
already written his best songs (IMO) but it is what it is.

Thanks, for adding this video of Sir Paul, Mike. He’s played here a few times in recent years.

My wife’s cousin here worked on one concert doing stage lighting. He told me an interesting story that may have changed overtime. When he was part of the crew Paul and Linda were said to have been strict vegetarians and they expected their staff to eat at catered facilities provided. Anything that resembled a hamburger or such would result in removal from the job.

Linda was said to have been such a terrible singer, but she was an enthusiastic member of the band Wings. Although, I can’t verify it, apparently, as I’m told, she didn’t know her mix to the crowd was reduced and overridden by the others.

I think you said it best, Mike. Age takes it’s toll on all of us, and things often change. I think Paul McCartney has reached that stage. That’s why I’ll pass on seeing him September 28/18 here in Winnipeg on stage.

I've read similiar things about Linda. I don't think she was much of a keys player either which
is why Paul's current keys guy, Wix Wickens has been with him since his Wings era.

For those who haven't heard it already, the golden pipes of Linda McCartney (isolated audio).

@2:25 "better, better SQUEAK!!!!" :lol:

1. Whatever sound guy did this to her is a jerk

2. When I pay what Sir Paul charges for a concert ticket, I expect to see trained professional musicians on stage (not Linda McCartney)

Wix Wickens totally makes sense, Mike.

The video on Linda. Great find ghost_of_strings. I agree with you. However that video was made, and whoever did it should be made to lift cabs everyday all day. We all know Linda is not unique on stage, but I’ll leave it at this. For a musician and vocalist she made one h_ll of a good photographer.

I like the way this one is a little different by EC and band :

Great video, Mike. I like the way EC performed it and ended the concert with it. :)

Eric’s performance, one of the best versions of Somewhere Over The Rainbow I figure, Mike. Thanks!

Probably not what ya thought:

Great clip FSB. I didn’t know the bit about “scrambled eggs” either.

The Clapton clip was great too. Give me that big fat Gibson with P90s.
