Great Yes footage, with a great guitar performance, Marky. Thanks.

Funny thing about drug songs, Rollie. There are some awesome ones, and if the lyrics never spoke of drugs they would probably still be awesome . . . but, less accepted coming with an audience built in. Can you say money in the bank for the industry?

It is believed that drugs can expand your creativity. That may be, but you have to have a good mind and ability to begin with. That brings the odds down. Just showing up, lasting for or repeating a performance brings the odds down too. History of who’s who supports that.

I had soft and hardcore drugs all around me from living by seaports and the westcoast culture. The ugly side and associated experience kept me clean, although the temptation was there. I never judged anyone except to say, I had the same reasons personally, culturally, and professionally to partake, but I just found my silly grin was from waking up in the morning, every morning without the need to belong. I liked my odds better. Hey! I met Cheech and Chong and we got along fine. :P
Drug songs? Just like TV . . . don’t take them seriously kids. Leave that for the other guys with the glassy eyes.
FSB

At my age I can’t handle the drugs I have daily, and they do nothing for my music.

Joe Walsh. He’s da man. Nobody like him. We’re all lucky to have him, and so glad things turned out good for him. Keep rawkin,’ Joe. Thanks, for the post, Mike.

Thanks, for adding Dweezil, Mike. Like father like son. I knew of Dweezil from some interviews, but this is the first time I’ve seen his performance. Good stuff. :D

One of my all-time favorites: EVH performing the classic Eruption during the Live Without a Net concert @ New Haven (CT) on August 27th, 1986.

Another 1980's favorite from Eric Clapton: an excellent rendition of Chris Mosdell/Ryuichi Sakamoto's "Behind the Mask" during the Prince's Trust rock gala @ RAH in June 5th, 1988. Features Mark Knopfler on guitar, Steve Ferrone on drums & Elton John on keyboards.
