Great bevy of gals along with Sheryl Crow, Mike. I believe Willie has a soft spot for Sheryl, but I think it’s because of her songwriting.
The article on Jimmy Wilsey was really informative and interesting. It also showed how copyright, once again, can be an advantage and a disadvantage to artists depending on how it’s worked. Thanks, for the history lesson, Mike. :D
Nice work by Theory. Some pretty mean traps on both Spirit and Hendrix. Great bands and great music. Those are some pretty heavy duty side toms in the Spirit video. I’m going to have to knock the walls out to add them to my kit. LOL.
Thanks, SBLS.

Orianthi Panagaris - she still made good even though her stint with Michael Jackson's "This Is It" Tour
never happened. So she goes and plays with Alice Cooper and now Richie Sambora who was the heart
and soul of Bon Jovi. Not a bad resume for a 33 yr old female guitarist.

Yessiree, Mike. Orianthi Panagaris has done well from hard work, as others before her have.

I remember awesome female guitarists in my high school which was and is even more arts oriented. I can’t help believe that many of the fairer sex have a very difficult time cracking that male dominated lead guitar position in bands, even as replacements for a non vocal lead position. Bass and rhythm sections seem to be more accepted and prevalent.

It is improving though, as it should just as it has with percussion and somewhat with keyboards. Whenever those positions reveal themselves it appears those positions are dynomite. Even so the struggle at the distribution and support end is a rough road and those that make it have surely earned their position. The ladies get my respect and applause.

Thanks, Mike for that video. Tina S. France is an exceptional player. I find that there is no limit of shredders, female included. However, speed and rudimentary playing, as difficult as it is (I wish it was in my hands), can be very blah to the point of boring at times. IMHO. Copying another has proven to be fine, but obviously nothing new. Speed, rudiments, copying, is a necessity, but in the wrong hands it is like every drummer playing Wipeout. But, hey! ? If you dig it, I dig that you dig it. Just because you can do it doesn’t mean you should. Well, maybe the audience demands it. When it’s good - it’s very good. When it’s very good and different it can be fantastic. Think of the demand for vocalists that meet that criteria. Guitarists like Tina can take it to another level with a higher form of musicality. That comes from within. She certainly put in the practice and had a great teacher. I’m sure we’ll being hearing more from her.

And you are right, Mike, that there are a lot of videos with young girls, women, and their axes. Most are on the way up, others are soloists, still others front all girl groups or original bands. I still would like to see them replace vacated or lost positions in some of those all guy groups; but, appearance and audiences may never or seldom at most see or want such a change. Nothing wrong here. The guys are unlikely to fill in for a girl group. These are show bands, and the show must go on. It just seems an oddity if not traditional.

Still, these are some great players to be sure.

Most Incredible FEMALE Guitarist STUNS the World! 16 Year old Tina S France!

All I can say is, wow! And she is so young. How will she improve upon that? Thanks for the great video, Mike.

Great additional video on Tina, Mike. Female or male, she may become one of the best guitarists male or female. I wish her the equal chance of becoming so. She has a great start and the talent to do it. IMHO

Thanks, for bringing Tina to our attention, Mike.
