Hiya, Mike. Could be at this end, but the clip plays with no audio here and on YouTube. All others in the vicinity check out okay and no restrictions show up.

No worries, just a heads up.

I enjoyed the whole video but Chuck Berry playing and talking about blues at 17:37 was a treat.

Maybe a regional issue?

Jim Campilongo Trio is the cat's meow. Add Nels Cline and lookout. I daresay this may be the most intense telepathy in Blues Rock...Jim changes key in the middle of "Politician" and everyone just follows right along.

BTW, that bass is a 1969 Fender Mustang short-scale. Listen patiently and you will be amazed...

Thanks, for chiming in on Mike’s video, Marky. Now I know too that it isn’t likely a regional issue. Usually, with regional blockage there’s a visual alert or just black, but in my case it strangely plays video but no audio.

Two good videos, Marky. Thanks!

I’m having withdrawals for that cool microphone that Ray Manzarek has.

I enjoyed Jim Campilongo and his bass player (Tony Scheer?). Reminds me of those YouTube videos where they teach you how to perform with bass player moves to grab the audience. (I’m still working on the guitar facial expressions). :P
All in all very entertaining.

I'm glad you liked it, FSB. The bass player is Chris Morrisey. And how about Josh Dion on drums and vocal?
Wow. :D

Mike, thanks for Barbara Lynn. Classic!

The street musicians, Marky. Cool! I particularly like the kid who was sitting on his amp, and the first guy and his tone with his traveling guitar and amp. Wow! I’d like to know what that amp was. Perhaps, it was a custom job? Really great on the street sound and playing. Thanks, for the post.

Found this while searching for something else. I think I have more respect
for John Mayer now :

I’ve not been one of John’s fans, but neither have I disliked him or his playing. However, thanks for your video, Mike. It tweaks my interest a little more as I too like to palm and use the whammy bar judiciously. It’s part of the whole IMHO. Okay, I’ll admit I got influenced in the 60s, and I haven’t looked back. In fact, pressing and pulling that bar progressed to what it is today,
and John did a superb job adding his two cents. :D (Now it’s my turn to develop my penny’s worth). :P
There are those who use and those who don’t use whammys, and that is perfectly understandable as there are plenty of reasons not to include one in build or play. Not a lot of acoustics include them, but they do exist for those who find an application for them.

For some a poorly set up tremolo will discourage a player. Still, for others they have a bad experience with a poor design. All this and more is a culprit for disdain. Too bad, because it’s a great tool in the right hands and many of those hands have become famous. Bending is cool, whammys are cool, and bending with tremelo is über-cool as John did a great job demonstrating. YMMV

Good post, Mike.
