This guy's fingerpicking version of the Star Spangled Banner is great!

I agree, Mike. He does a fine job of a fine composition.

Being that today is Canada's 150th birthday per se, I'd thought I'd go out on a limb to say your anthem translates to acoustic and electric well. Even though I play electric and acoustic, I wouldn't go so far as to say that our anthem does the same equally as well. That's only my opinion (YMMV), and I can't explain why our composition makes me believe that it plays differently. I do feel, however, that Hendrix wouldn't do justice with Oh, Canada like The Star Spangled Banner. Maybe, it's the vibe.

Here's one that blows and needs to go back to the drawing board IMHO:

Lots of variations and performances. Here's one that I liked:

"O Canada" is another good song with many versions.

Since we're in a Patriotic-type mood, here's another I like :

Good pick, Mike. I'm guessing you know the two different lyrics can be American or Canadian and your video works for both. What I didn't know is it reaches much farther with global versions.

If you're interested or haven't read it, I've included this for a very interesting relation to the song. The origin and copyright is particularly interesting. There's even a Presidential connection.

This one's a hoot (literally and figuratively)......

You'd think that the "PTL" in PTL Club actually stood for PASS THE LOOT.

BWAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!

I enjoyed Robin, Marky, and Jeff too, Mike. Don't wanna leave anyone out 'cause they're all great.

Now if only I could get Beck's tech to work on my whammy bar that would be cool.

It's all about dat bass:

Corrosion Of Conformity. That was really good, Rollie.

Whoever mixed that did a great job. I always appreciate when extra attention is paid to separation, dynamics, and all with that genre.

All too often, when a good song and performance is done it ends up sounding like mud (all too often because a band member wants more recognition at the expense of the overall product). This didn't end up mush. It was well balanced. I don't claim to have refined mixing skill (or the best facility), but, like others here, I've heard good and bad first hand. So kudos to the producer, engineer, and band.

Speaking of genres, there's plenty of push, especially by the monopoly in the music industry, to get the masses to accept that Rock N' Roll (and in some cases Rock) is dead. So was Blues, Jazz, Country, and more. I won't expand on this here as we all know it's an ongoing Pandora's box that hurts with big boy ramified promotion for control and profit. Throw on a soundtrack, do a little dance, and auto tune between the lip syncs. Water it down, and float your boat. Like whatever Homies. :P
So without any regard for a specific genre, for those of you who find comfort in reading and/or playing music, for those wanting inspiration, for those who want to think outside the box, and just for fun, here's one man's take on "Is it music?"

How's that for a Pandora's box?
FSB
Note that in the video Beethoven was interpreted with an upgrade, and I have little doubt that Rock 'N Roll will continue on likewise. How it translates playing on a comb or oscillator I don't know.

I had never seen In The End video before, SBLS. I'm glad I have now. Everything was good about this song.

Beautiful visual, great song, subtle and effective use of Auto-Tune, tasteful use of scratching (scrubbing), and complimentary rap that was clear and not overpowering or disjointed crap.

In short, Linkin Park, great band that they are, showed us how to put those components together to give us MUSIC! Many other bands could take a few lessons from this. Thanks, for posting, Rollie.

FSB
See I'm not an old fogey who hates Auto-Tune (it's in the house), Scratch (scrubbing), and good Rap. :)
It's a misconception that all of these similar recordings deserve a free pass. "Is it music?", "Is it good?", or "Is it crap?" Too bad there's no side B anymore for the failures. On the other hand, better that we're not saddled with today's hard copy album with one or two decent songs like when recording companies reclaimed flooded distribution in the 70s.
:P

Well shoot me in the foot and call me late for this band, Mike.

Cross Canadian Ragweed was great. That was a first for me, and maybe it's because the band gets it's name from Cody Canada the lead, and the fact that they hail from Yukon, Oklahoma. Thanks, for the post.

These Okies deserve another round:
